Investing in Tomorrow’s Insurance Leaders

TypTap sat down with Ali Fletcher to learn about the events that led her to become an insurance professional and how she hopes to influence future colleagues.

Who has had the most significant influence on your current insurance industry career path?

During Hurricanes Katrina and Wilma, I assisted my father, Brian Marino, in the disaster trailers doing claim intakes and distributing ice. Witnessing firsthand the impact my dad had on people during some of their most challenging moments and watching him provide support, guidance, and relief to families in the aftermath of devastation inspired me deeply. It showed me the critical role insurance professionals play in helping individuals and communities recover and rebuild. That experience planted the seed for my passion to follow in his footsteps and make a meaningful difference in times of need.

How do you give back to the insurance industry?

When insurance professionals give back—whether through disaster relief efforts, community education programs, or mentoring future industry leaders—it builds trust and a sense of reliability. These efforts demonstrate our commitment to protecting people during their most vulnerable moments. This sense of purpose and connection benefits individual professionals and enhances the industry’s ability to adapt, innovate, and serve clients effectively.

Could you share a memorable experience of giving back to the industry?

I am relatively new to volunteering with INVEST, a national program that educates students on insurance careers. Even in this short time, I’ve been struck by how engaged and curious the students are. Their interest and eagerness to learn make me feel like I am genuinely making a difference in shaping their professional paths. It’s incredibly rewarding to know I’m playing a part in inspiring and guiding the next generation of insurance professionals.

Cultivating tomorrow’s insurance leaders is a community effort and we would like to hear about your agency’s efforts at marketing@TypTap.com.
